Beaver Group selects Autodesk PLM 360

Beaver Group is an agency specialising in digital media, design and creative solutions.

They are made up of two companies, Beaver Solutions and Beaver Design. Beaver Solutions provides digital media solutions (such as digital signage, way finding, interactive kiosks, AV, etc.) and Beaver Design provides design and print (such as websites, web tools, mobile apps, video production, etc.)

In addition, they also work with their specialist sister company, Signature Digital Menus. Signature Digital Menus is a sister company of Beaver Solutions, it's a specialist company/brand that provides digital menu boards (it works alongside Beaver Solutions to do this).

Beaver group manages the entire design, project management and Installation process of their digital menus and signs. They have been searching for a PLM solution for some time that brings together all aspects of the design process for internal staff, external suppliers and customers. With the added advantage of being available on mobile devises.

They did not want to invest in heavy infrastructure, so was put off in the past as the upfront investment was just too much. PLM 360 being cloud based changed this, it's also a perfect fit because it allows them to configure the software to fit with the ever changing demands and requirements from their customers.

Idea Generation..

To Design...
They intend to capture and manage the entire design process from the initial sketches done on site at the customer, all the way through the compliance checking once the installation is complete.

Beaver Group has won many design awards..

WINNERS in the highly competitive "Marketing Week Engage Awards 2011", with dramatic sales uplift at Burger King, from our sister company Signature Digital Menus.

WINNERS of "Digital Signage Project of the Year 2010" from the AV Awards, for designs and content strategies at Burger King, from our sister company Signature Digital Menus.

We even have a similar sign in our office in the UK !

I will be posting regular updates and progress reports on how they are streamlining their current process.

Cheers for reading...Mike

Autodesk Sketchbook & Tattoo Artists a match made in heaven !

I thought I'd switch gear this week and talk about another Autodesk product, namely Autodesk  SketchBook® . This  is the ultimate in painting and drawing software.  It helps digital artists and illustrators design with professional-grade perspective tools and intuitive user interface. You can sketch, draw, and paint on any platform it's badass ! This blog post happened by pure chance, let me explain... http://www.autodesk.com/products/sketchbook-pro/overview For those of you that know me well, when I'm not on the road working with our Autodesk PLM 360 customers I like to go and inflict pain on myself in the form of tattooing !. I think I've made quite a good job of it so far ! Last weekend I took a trip to the coast to see a good friend of my Zak Chai, who is the owner of High Tide Tattoo in  Whitstable for a day of pleasure (in my mind anyhow!). When I arrive the kettle goes on and we sit down to discuss what he's going to...

Using the FMEA PLM 360 App

So as discussed in my last post, I'm gonna do a deep dive into the Apps in the PLM 360 App Store over the coming months to give you an overview of what they are all about. First up is the FMEA App, the FMEA App or the Failure Mode  Effect Analysis  is used to  record the results for each type for Functional, Design or Process analysis for   components, assemblies, and subsystems. The Wiki View of FMEA Failure mode and effect analysis (FMEA) was one of the first systematic techniques for failure analysis. It was developed by reliability engineers in the 1950s to study problems that might arise from malfunctions of military systems. An FMEA is often the first step of a system reliability study. It involves reviewing as many components, assemblies, and subsystems as possible to identify failure modes, and their causes and effects. For each component, the failure modes and their resulting effects on the rest of the system are recorded in the App. An FMEA i...
